First of all, who the [expletive] said it could SNOW today?!

Second, managed to catch up on a couple of things at work (miracle!). A bunch of us went to lunch at China Buffet, which was lots of fun!

I think I wanted to say something else here, but I forgot what it was.

Anyway, back to Xmas.

My Death Note Xmas stocking. Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] deadfoxkyo1 for giving me those chocolate-covered pretzels the other night to put in it! Although I ate half the bag not long after he left, & the rest is in the fridge...

Saturday, as you will have read in part one, my brother, sister-in-law, & nephew were over, & much fun ensued. Everybody liked their gifties, & I liked mine. ^_^

Does that mean Anthony likes it or not?

After they left, Mattie & Bridget went out for a bit (Mattie came back later), & my mom, Johnathan, & I watched a pre-release DVD (which I guess Mattie got from Bridget) of the new "Stepfather" movie. This one stars Dylan Walsh from Nip/Tuck. It was okay, a bit more tense drama than out-&-out horror (I don't recall much of the original, though it did have 2 sequels, but I want to say those were more horror-oriented). I'd also brought along "Blackadder's Christmas Carol", which they'd never seen before, so we watched that, as well.

Johnathan, the brownie demon!

A bit of tv (including some on-demand music videos) & chatting, plus some dinner/dessert (not to mention more jokes throughout the day based on the VERY ADULT joke present I got my mom), & later on, my mom kinda conked out while Johnathan & I watched his copy of "Public Enemies", with Johnny Depp & Christian Bale. Johnathan clunked half-way through, & I was in & out so I missed a lot. Ended up re-watching it on Sunday. It's a good film - the ending got me, in an emotional way.

My mom woke from her nap (Johnathan had gone to bed), & she & I watched this wicked little Sci-Fi/Syfy movie called "Autopsy" that boasted a REALLY neat visual that I couldn't even think of in my wildest gore-hound dreams. After that, she went to bed, & I watched a few tidbits in the hopes of making it to Death Note. I have all the episodes on tape, I just like seeing it when it's on - & the first one on Sat. (they've scheduled it in TWO HOUR BLOCKS now, from 3 to 5 am!) was that gripping episode (SPOILER ALERT!) where L dies. I clunked during Cowboy Bebop (which they've put back on, at 2:30 - I have all of those, too), woke up just in time to see L meet his fate, & zonked out again. Next thing I know, it's previews for next week's first episode.

As you can see, Fluff's present wore him out.

Sunday morning, I decided to give the "Hostel" double-feature a try. I'd seen the first one (at my mom's, in fact), but it was pretty late & I dozed off during all the torture scenes between the beginning & the ending. They were both on the on-demand menu, so I forwarded through the beginning of the first one, 'til I reached the bits I hadn't seen. I'd only seen a clip of the second one, so I watched that in its entirety. My mom & Johnathan got up after I'd started the second one (he'd already seen it, but I re-ran the beginning for my mom, 'cuz there was one shot I just had to show her). We loved the ending. I actually think that one out-did the first.

Even Kitt, the stray that adopted my mom, got in on the holiday fun! Although (s)he does seem to be saying, "Would you please take this flaming bow off my head now?"

After re-watching Johnny Depp, it was a bit of tv & chatting & then packing up for the long haul home. It's always a little sad when these things come to an end, but there are b-days & holidays yet to come. I'll cherish them now, since one day I might be worried about cancelled flights & Customs declarations & all that jazz.

Happy New Year!

By the way, my resolution for 2010 is to find a way to get people other than [livejournal.com profile] el_jefe59 to comment on my entries on a (somewhat) regular basis! :P
