Ladies & gentlemen, we have lift-off! :D
I CAN WATCH THAT!!!
And I did. Just like I told my grandpa I would. :)
There's a massive story goes along with this, but I'm too worn out to type it all up now. Stay tuned for the adventurous details!
I'd received a computerised phone message yesterday confirming the appointment for the tech to come set up my upgrade. Great. Went to work today, & had a doozy of a morning, but I was psyched to get home & wait for them to come hook everything up. The appt. was set between 2 & 4 pm, & I got home @ 12:30, had some lunch, cleared the stuff off the top of the entertainment center - I was determined to get my peripherals hooked back up! - disconnected the DVD player in the back room (wanted to try getting that hooked back up in the living room), washed the rest of my dishes, & talked quickly to my mom.
At 2:30, I get a phone call, asking if someone would be home so the tech could come. I said I was already home, & they confirmed the address. So I sat down to watch some tv & wait.
And I waited...& waited...& waited...
4:00 came & went. As did 5:00. At 5:30, I figured there was no way they could be hung up on a job that long (my initial thought was that they'd run long at the previous customer's place), so I called the company. At first, it seemed they had no record of me even setting up the appointment! But I had a confirmation number. Next, they found a record of a work order for me, but they said it was already done! Nani?! Um...no, my phone is still plugged into a regular wall jack, I'm still on dial-up Internet, & I don't have all those extra cable channels I'm s'posed to get. They once again confirmed the address & phone number, the latter of which I had to pay an extra $40 (one-time fee) to keep after the changeover to digital; otherwise, they'd have issued me a whole new number!
Long story short (too late), it turns out there HAD been a tech dispatched, who somehow managed to accidentally go to the WRONG ADDRESS, where SOMEONE ELSE let him in, & SIGNED FOR the installation of MY upgrade! Fortunately, they'd been able to track the modem when I called, & though they were, at first, gonna dispatch someone to rectify the situation tomorrow, they were able to get a guy out tonight to do it.
He was a really, really nice guy. Kind of looked like Anthrax's Scott Ian, without the beard. Had a nifty tattoo on his forearm. This guy went above & beyond! He had to re-route some of the wiring, since the signal wasn't coming through very well, & the 'net wouldn't connect. He had to run a new cable through from the outside, & made sure to get my consent before he drilled through the wall. He was really careful not to disturb the breakables! Even after everything finally got set up (& he worked his tail off to do that much!), he not only triple-checked that everything was working properly, but he re-did the old cable connection (which is, like, 20 years old) 'cuz the wire was kind of kaput (it's a good thing I tidied the basement last weekend!), & that made the channels in the back room come in super-clear! That tv (as with the one in my bedroom) isn't upgraded, & some of them were less-than-watchable, but that was because of the old connection.
He wanted to try & help me with my peripherals, but it turns out that digital cable is incompatible with a lot of that stuff, like DVD players & VCRs. So the DVD machine will go back in the computer room (tomorrow). One of these days, I hope to get a DVD/VCR combo for the living room, but until then, he was only able to hook one VCR up to the digital box, & even with that, I can't tape off the tv (which SUCKS!), but at least I can watch tapes somewhere other than my bedroom now! He even explained to me which wires he put where, so I know how to do it in future if I have to swap VCRs or something.
It was SOOO funny, 'cuz I was checking to make sure I got additional channels as promised, & what do I find playing right then & there on the NickToons channel, but DRAGONBALL Z!!!! I kinda freaked out (in a good way) when I saw that, which made him laugh. He shook my hand before he left, & again after he had to come back 'cuz he'd left one of his tools in the back room. ^_^
Only I would have to go through that much for something as simple as high-speed Internet! XD Called my mom (while simultaneously gawking at DBZ & logging onto the 'net), who is happy now 'cuz she'll be able to get hold of me even if I'm on-line. :)
Anywho, feel free to post video clips now, 'cuz I can see 'em! ^_^

Re: YES IT IS ALL ABOUT YOKAN!!
Date: 2010-06-07 11:45 pm (UTC)LOL, mine, too!!! XD I'm pissed 'cuz now that Funimation re-did the old Ocean eps (which were butchered beyond belief in some places), I CAN'T TAPE THEM!!! XP I'm still missing some eps besides the early ones, as well (not too many, tho'). Oh, for cheap anime on DVD!!! 8P Damn J-rock expensiveness. :P But it is def. nice to see the DBZ gang again (I haven't pulled my taped eps/movies out in a while...maybe we should be posting Vegeta/Trunks clips on our FB pages, LOL!!). They're pretty early into it at this point, Goku is just coming back from Otherworld to help the Z-senshi fight Vegeta & Nappa!! XD
What are you, 12??? Oh, wait...you said you were. XD Dude, I didn't even catch that!! XD Oh, this is the guy I compared him to: http://images.starpulse.com/pictures/2008/07/03/previews/Scott%20Ian-PRN-023045.jpg - (just without the beard); yeah, semi-cute. :) Really nice guy!!

Re: YES IT IS ALL ABOUT YOKAN!!
Date: 2010-06-14 11:55 pm (UTC)But after the BL, of course. ^_^ Esp. if DxS are involved!! :D
Hmmmm...you know, there's lots of fanfics out there with DBZ-BL. XD But I'm a bit of a hetero when it comes to that show (tho' there are some characters I was never quite sure about, ha ha ha!!)...I should try & show you some of my fave DBZ fanart that I've collected over the years...I'd prob'ly have to photograph them; I doubt the sites I got them from are even still up. :P
Re: YES IT IS ALL ABOUT DBZ!!!! < hahaha
Date: 2010-06-16 09:43 pm (UTC)omg, i do NOT LIKE YAOI PAIRINGS for DBZ hahhaha, if i had to choose, it would be TrunksxAndroid17, but thats it! and even then, i'm kinda iffy, lol XDDD my other friend Tyler, not my Tyler, hates when i bring up boys love, lol XD so as revenge he said that he was gonna draw me a GokuxVegeta drawing XDDDD EEEWWWWWWWW!!!! i hope he never does XDDDDD
but def make a post with them, let me know if you do :D
Re: YES IT IS ALL ABOUT DBZ!!!! < hahaha
Date: 2010-06-16 10:29 pm (UTC)It really depends on how it's done. I can dig on the Mirai Trunks/Android 17 thing...& there was always that question about Chaotzu & Tenshinhan (LOL!!)...I've read Goku x Vegeta stuff, & there was 1 that worked within the context of the story/characters, but it was so sad, it was hard to read. I think that took a lot of thought & craft to put together, but it's not a pairing I'd go for. Let's hope he never draws that picture! XD I did read one that was Vegeta & Raditz (such an underestimated guy!), set back in the days when they were still under Freeza's thumb, which was pretty interesting. ^_~ I've seen a lot of Freeza/Vegeta rape ones, too, which I wouldn't put past Freeza, except we don't know if Freeza's actually a dude. XD
Oh, I'll absolutely let you know when I get to make a DBZ fanart post! ^_^
Re: YES IT IS ALL ABOUT DBZ!!!! < hahaha
Date: 2010-06-18 07:35 am (UTC)but ew GokuxVegeta! NEEVVVER!!! lol XD
and lmao! at the vegetaxfreeza one! ahahahaahhaahhaahhahahahahha thats gross! hahaa, i'm confident it was a dude, totally fem boy though hahaa, jk jk.. wait even to this day we dont know if he was a man or woman? lol XD i'll have to go find out XDD
Re: YES IT IS ALL ABOUT DBZ!!!! < hahaha
Date: 2010-06-19 01:29 am (UTC)Whatever you do, tho', I'm sure you'll come up with something cool. ^_^
Yeah, VxG was never something I got into. :P I certainly wouldn't doubt that Freeza would want to take advantage of Vegeta. To assert his power & further humiliate the Prince - remember how he used to refer to the Saiyans as "saru" (monkey)? And if Vegeta didn't already have a reason to hate Freeza (who killed his entire race, with the exception of 3 individuals), that would be the icing on the cake. O.o
They refer to Freeza as male, but you just can't tell with that guy. He looks pretty ambiguous. Of course, apart from him & brief appearances by Cooler & King Kold, we don't know much about what kind of creatures they were, where they came from, or what their version of gender/sexuality might have been. XD If you can find any info on that, I'd love to know!! :D
Re: YES IT IS ALL ABOUT DBZ!!!! < hahaha
Date: 2010-06-22 09:40 pm (UTC)well hmmm, maybe trunks, lol XDDDD we'll see where that goes XDD
omg Freeza lol, i hated when he mutated XDDD eww! hahaa but i definitely loved the final transformation so much XD
Re: YES IT IS ALL ABOUT DBZ!!!! < hahaha
Date: 2010-06-22 10:52 pm (UTC)Hmmmm...Trunks...ooh, he'd be cool as a J-rocker, too!! ^_^ I bet you could draw that one up pretty well. :D
Me, too!! XD That 2nd transformation (w/the big head) was terrible!! :P But the last one was, indeed, fab!! :)
Re: YES IT IS ALL ABOUT DBZ!!!! < hahaha
Date: 2010-06-27 01:05 am (UTC)but when kyo growls he always looks like he's going super saiyan XD lol XDD i like that your friend said that haha
hahaa, i'll have to try a little bit later at drawing Trunks jrock style, lol XDDD and of course android 17 X3
Re: YES IT IS ALL ABOUT DBZ!!!! < hahaha
Date: 2010-06-27 05:05 am (UTC)LMAO, he does!! XD And he HAS gone from black hair to blonde & back again, LOL!! XD Hee hee, yeah, he does come up with some great comments. XD
Those 2 J-rock style would be AWESOME!! X3 Can't wait to see what you come up with! :D
